Areas along bank of Vinh River and Lam River are gateways to Vinh City. These areas are endowed with abundant advantages for development, especially tourism. However, due to the fact that it has not yet been planned in detailed and invested, the land here is left fallow or utilized irrationally.
Being aware of the position and importance of these areas, leaders of the Province, Services, branches at provincial and city level have recently come to investigate and supply concrete guidance to establish plans of effective investment, exploration and management. In Official Document 5300 of the Provincial People’s Committee dated 03 November 2002, the Chairman of Committee assigned related levels, branches to implement concrete matters. To carry it out, since early 2003, the People Committee of Vinh City and the Transport Service have established investment projects for construction of transport roads in combination with flood control dykes along Vinh River and Lam River, from Cua Nam Lake to the end area of Hung Hoa Village.
The People Committee of Vinh City will be investor of the project for construction from Cua Nam Lake to Ben Thuy Bridge pier.
The Transport Service will be investor of the project for construction from Hung Hoa fuel dump to the end area of Hung Hoa Village.
The Department of Dyke will be assigned by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to prepare the investment in construction from Ben Thuy Bridge to Hung Hoa fuel dump. The People Committee of Vinh City will preside over co-ordination with Services: Agriculture and Rural Development and Transport to work closely and in detail with the Department of Dyke of Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. The project is scheduled to invest before flood season of 2003.
As being implemented, these projects will create huge conditions for re-planning the south and southeast of Vinh City, opening new urban areas and services, and changing appearance of gateways to the City. |
