Drainage system of the city is centralized into 3 main zones

The first Zone: discharges sewage water for the Northern part of the city through Bau bridge, North channel then to Dung canal.

The Second Zone: discharges sewage water for the Southern part of the city through channels no. 2, no. 3 and Hong Bang then to Vinh River.

The third Zone: discharge sewage water for the Western part of the city through channel no. 1 to Vinh river and channel no.4 to Kegai river.
Total length of the first channel is 20.1 km; second channel 73.9 km and third channel 53.5 km. Currently, sewage water merged with rain water and have not been processed before discharged to the river.
Water supply resources include processed water, raining water, water from drilling wells and water from wells in household among those, total number of households with access to processed water is nearly 50%. Processed water is supplied from Vinh water plant (at Cua Nam) with the capacity of 20,000 cubic meters per day. A new water supply station is being built with the capacity of 60,000 cubic meters a day. Water pipelines network of level 1,2 are mainly allocated in the downtown, with total length of 60 km. |
